There is a kind of gain called giving.

There is a kind of happiness called being able to serve is a blessing.

There is a kind of learning called volunteering.

"Cultivating Blessings - Volunteer Recruitment"

At Dharma Drum Mountain, which advocates spiritual environmentalism, every volunteer here is a bodhisattva of myriad practices, contributing to events and the construction of the monastery. Master Sheng Yen said that myriad practices do not mean omnipotence, but rather that both high and low tasks can be done; we do what others do not, and let others take over what is already being done. We invite you to join us in cultivating blessings, wisdom, and sowing fields of merit.
