One-Day Chan Retreat

Treat yourself to a day of meditation and experience the benefits of Chan (Chinese Zen). This one-day retreat is designed to help you refresh and deepen your practice by applying mindfulness to your daily life.

The day will consist of periods of sitting meditation interspersed with eight-form moving meditation, mindful yoga, and walking meditation. There will also be Dharma talks, with reviews of meditation methods or guided meditations as needed. This simple, relaxed program will help you settle your mind and maintain a silent awareness of your every activity.

This retreat is open to anyone who has taken the Beginner’s Guide to Meditation or has previous experience in Chan/Zen practice. For beginners, we encourage you to join our Beginners’ Guide to Meditation on 11/8 or any of our group practices to prepare for the one-day retreat.

Schedule (subject to variation)

* No late check-ins.

* Retreatants are expected to complete the entire retreat, except for unforeseen circumstances such as health or family emergency issues.

* During the retreat, we observe noble silence.  Smoking, drinking alcohol, reading, making notes, using cell phones and electronic recordings are prohibited.

* To conserve and reduce waste, please bring your own water bottle or tumbler.
